Capture the task as you do it

Step capture creates a sequence of screenshots rather than a continuous video. It is useful for a repeatable setup, a support handoff or a process someone needs to follow later.

  1. Choose Steps and the capture display.
  2. Select Record Steps to start click-triggered capture. Perform the task normally.
  3. Use Pause when you need a break in the guide. Resume to continue.
  4. Use Capture Step to add a screenshot intentionally.
  5. Select a captured step to inspect its image and edit its title and description.
  6. Use Save Guide or Save Guide As to keep an editable copy.

Adjust the capture

The capture delay can be adjusted in settings. A small delay can help menus and changed screens settle before a screenshot is taken. The best setting depends on the task you are documenting.

Keep the sequence useful

Review the captured steps before sharing. Remove unnecessary steps, give important steps clear titles and explain the result in the description. Multi-select deletion is available when several captures are not needed.
