Your first workflow
Choose a step guide or a video, capture the work, and make a useful handoff.
Choose what you want to keep
Steps is for instructions someone can read at their own pace. It captures screenshots as you work and lets you edit the guide. Video is for motion, timing and spoken explanation. It keeps a recording you can enrich, search and revisit in the viewer.
Make a screenshot guide
- Open Steps and choose the display you want to capture.
- Use Record Steps for click-triggered capture, or Capture Step for an intentional screenshot.
- Select a step to edit its title and description. Review the screenshot and any sensitive information.
- Save the guide, then export HTML, Markdown or Word when it is ready to share.
Make a searchable video
- Open Video, choose a display and the audio source you want.
- Record the walkthrough and stop when the task is finished.
- Find the recording in Library. Let enrichment complete for screen-text and transcript search.
- Choose Open viewer, search for a phrase, and select a matching timestamp.
The video capture and the search-enrichment stages are separate. A playable recording may be ready before all search results are available.
